Coaching Today's Leaders
Who We've Worked With
I can not, in words, explain to you the sea of change Mike has brought to coaching that changed the leadership landscape in companies like IBM, American Express etc. I had an opportunity to participate in one of the leadership journeys- a life changing program- and it has changed the way we approach so many aspects and challenges in the business world. It has made it so easy.
“The Leadership Journey is a better way to teach difficult concepts. Prior to attending PeopleTek’s unique coaching and facilitative approach I attended many managerial workshops that just dumped large amounts of complex information. I didn’t get a chance to talk about the concepts with a professional coach, practice what I learned and discuss issues with my peers and our PeopleTek consultant. This is what I should have taken years ago when I started my career in a leadership position. I am addressing the non-performers and my staff told me that I have increased my leadership effectiveness by 100 percent.”
“I feel that what I learned on ‘The Journey’ helped me to be selected for IBM’s ‘Leadership Excellence Program’. I was the only person selected from 225 candidates.”
"PeopleTek coaches/instructors are very committed and have a strong desire for others to get value from understanding themselves and others. The Journey really adds value and can really make a difference with the dynamics of a team.” “The Journey provided an opportunity for a team forum. We learned about our colleagues and their styles which revealed and unveiled a lot of information. As a result we are more collaborative and possess a better level of understanding. The tools allowed this to happen."
“I don’t know what you did or how but wow did they change!!” Each person changed a behavior that was special for his or her personal development. One now listens instead of talking. Another stands up for himself and the third has much better boundaries.”
“The journey exceeded expectations. It was very insightful learning about “me” and how to relate to others. The tools/instruments were very powerful and certainly increased my awareness levels”. “All management should take the class. It would facilitate focusing on listening and learning skills. The Journey opens minds to future capacity/growth and assists with how to manage and be managed.”
“This training guided through a series of self discoveries that hold the secret of improving my effective leadership behavior, techniques and processes. I learned tools that can connect them to the work I am doing today."
“Peopletek has been instrumental in helping us build our management and leadership skills. They have been able to get our company leaders to take the time to build skills and achieve goals and helped create a roadmap that can both guide us and keep us on the path we have chosen. They have also been key in helping us get management buy-in to our Vision, Mission and Goals. In a time when money has been tight Peopletek provided affordable advice and counsel that helped our existing team become more productive and lowered costly turnover. Morale has been higher than ever and many challenges have been met with Peopletek working alongside our team during the past five years.”
“The Journey provided the overall ability to step back, assess current roles, and provided amazing diagnostics via the tools/instruments regarding leadership styles for myself and others.”
“As with most things in life, too much of a good thing could be bad. This experience, this Journey, has helped me open my eyes to the way others perceive my actions. Being task oriented is good for reaching goals, but can prevent time for understanding other’s needs. I’ve learned that slowing down to better listen and understand others is NOT the same as stopping progress, just the opposite, it allows for better collaboration and team building, allowing goals to be reached in a better way.”
“The Leadership Journey is a program that does not focus on the traditional approach to leadership skills: “you need to do this to be a better leader.” Rather, it focuses on the preferences that a leader has for leading, listening, managing conflict, and developing personal relationships. It identifies the strengths and the weakness of those preferences, and provides suggestions on how to minimize each weakness, and how to NOT overuse each strength (which would result in a weakness!). It’s very insightful for resources that have very little time to reflect on how they perceive others, or are being perceived by coworkers.”
“I participated in the Leadership Journey after working at Amex for 26 years. The process dissected my leadership approach and helped me to understand the strengths and value I bring to a team. I became a better listener, communicator and learned to handle conflict more effectively. I only wish I had the opportunity to have this experience earlier in my career. I definitely see how the information would have helped me to fully reach my career potential.”
